The Green Frog Fishery is home to two separate spring fed lochans situated in the town of Moffat in Dumfries & Galloway

Fishing Ponds are open during the shop hours and close 15mins before the shop closes

• Fly Fishing Lochan: A 4.5 acre fed with our own natural springs, gin clear lochan holding Blue, Brown and Rainbow Trout. Weights range from 3lb up to 12lb plus ! Angling here is strictly barbless hooks and fly only. Fish caught here can be returned or taken, depending on the permit and the fish.
• Bait Fishing Lochan: The  1.5 acre “bait pond” is also fed by the same springs. In here you will find Rainbow and Blue Trout, maybe even the odd Brownie! Weights in here range from 2lb upwards. Bait fishing is “catch & keep” only. All fish caught here must be taken with no fish to be returned to the water. This is bait fishing only with live bait, sweetcorn or prawns. Spinners and Power Bait are prohibited here.
• Stocking Levels: We keep both ponds well stocked. The Fly Pond is regularly topped up every two weeks by ourselves from a holding tank we have onsite. The Bait Pond is maintained at a level of around 400 fish and delivery is straight from Ae Fishery a short drive from Moffat.
• Feed the Fish : You are more than welcome to visit our holding tanks and see the hundreds of fish that we hold, there is even a facility for the kids to feed the fish !
